GLADE.JPG

We’re a family hobby kennel in located in southwestern Pennsylvania. We strive to improve our breeds by producing puppies that exemplify their breed standards. Although our pups are bred to excel in conformation and field work, they are first and foremost excellent companions.

We began our foray into conformation events with our second vizsla, Sagebrush, in 2002, and subsequently became addicted to showing. In 2004, we added what initially started out as “a beagle”, and have since made way for “a few beagles”. These merry little hounds have certainly worked their way into our hearts.

Our involvement with our dogs over the years has allowed us to make many close friends and aquaintances who have helped us to learn so much. We are forever thankful for everyone who has given us their time, knowledge and resources in helping us to get to where we are today.

MOUNTAIN TOP.JPG
151 Parson Drive, Viper, KY 41774, USA

In our Mountain Top Kennel I take pride in caring for each and every dog. I believe every dog needs time to run, play, and have individual attention as a part of my family. I strive to provide the best quality of life and veterinary care for each dog so that each one is healthy and well acclimated.
I read and follow breed standards from AKC AND UKC to try to make sure my dogs are correct as possible. I always try to improve my breedings.
My dogs hunt often for that is what they were bred to do … their paws and pads are rough and tough – some like to swim, some just like to lay around, some enjoy the show ring while others want to find the RAT but each one is loved dearly.
When I retire them from breeding I try to find a home that fits their lifestyle so they will get the experience of being in a family where they do not share attention but rather are the top dog for their remaining years. I usually retire dogs when they are 5 or 6 years old.
I do monthly medicines for worming, heartworms and flea medication. Before breeding they are medically assessed by our veterinarian for PLL, patella luxation, and eye exams.
My dogs spend time in my home but most sleep and eat in an outside kennel that is air conditioned and heated where they have a doggie door to go outside to a dog run where they can go potty or just go outside when they want. My kennel has four paddocks to separate them to play during the day.
I take pride in my kennel and love the families we connect with when they purchase one of our dogs and stay in touch when possible to watch them grow and share fun times. My pups are whelped and raised in my home I use a program called Puppy Culture to help them have an easy transition and be ready for their new homes.
My family and I love this part of our lives

DREAMWORKS.JPG

Here at Dreamworks we strive to breed healthy, structurally correct, excellent temperaments, and good working minds. Breeding is a passion and it’s not for the faint of heart. It takes dedication and time to comb through pedigrees, make contacts, showcase my dogs, and train and condition them- body and mind- to be the best they can in and out of the show ring. All my dogs are health tested and test results are available to all who enquirer. Many are listed on the OFA site but more testing is done than what is listed on their website. So please feel feel to contact us with any questions and for more information any of our dogs.
Dreamworks started long before it ever got its name. I’ve had Dalmatians in my life since I was 12 years old, and I grow up with my dad breeding hunting beagles. Both breeds are dear to my heart. Dreamworks seemed to be the perfect name when I decided to dive into breeding and showcasing my dogs; and Journey (Ch HiSpot’s Magical Journey CGC) seemed the perfect name for my foundation girl who ended up being far more than I could have ever dreamt when I picked her up at nine weeks old. She has since passed away but her unconditional love for all and her tender spirit love on in her kids, grandkids, and great grand kids. The Journey continues and I couldn’t be more grateful for all my dogs and the gifts they have blessed me with. I traveled all over the world, met some of my dearest friends, and continue to learn and explore new place and things all because of my dogs.

BARKER.jpg

In 2002 we were thinking of getting a beagle….we were hunting alot but always hunting with my brother & his hounds.  He called me one night & informed me that he was going to get me a beagle for Christmas.  I told him NOOOO we were traveling alot & a dog just would not fit into our lives.  After chatting with him for awhile he informed of a man that had some nice hounds for sale & in fact was the same man that he & my father had in years passed purchased one of the best beagles that my father ever owned.  HE WAS VERY CONVINCING!!  Well after talking with him I called the man that had the beagles for sale.  But it was a little to late, he had sold them all.  After talking with him for some time & he telling me of their pedigree.  I ordered up not one but two beagles.  He would be breeding some of his females in the spring & I was put on the top of the list.  I only wished that I would have ordered up 4 instead of the 2.  Trisca was whelped 6/13/03 on a  FRIDAY!!!  So her name……….Triscadeca………….Triscadecaphobia is the fear of the number 13.  But so far all good LUCK!!  Anny was whelped 8/22/03.  My all around  favorite shotgun being 12 gauge ……& so Barker Brook’s 12 Gauge Anny.  Barker Brook borders my land……..a good name for the hounds!!  These Girls just took over our lives!!!  We got Trisca when she was 8 weeks old & she went everywhere with us.  At that time we did alot of hiking & she hiked many a trail.  A favorite game with her………I would run ahead & hide.  Jack would hold her back & then let her go.  She would always find me no matter how far ahead I would get ahead of her.  This was always a game to her but would prove an asset when I started to train her for rabbit hunting.  These Girls have a great nose, desire & brains  They were a joy to train.  We were shooting rabbits over them at 6 & 8 months old.  What a pair!!  Like I said I only wish I had 2 of each of their breeding………A good cross of each of those litters.  The first Field Trial I went to was in the spring of 2003.  I saw an ad for the Androscoggin Trial & went to observe.  I was so amazed by all that was going on & asked alot of questions.  Everyone there was very helpful & explained what was going on.  I would later end up joining this club.  The last couple of years have flown by.  We have become regulars at the field trials & have met some great people.  The trial people have become our extended family & we have had many great times. We have added 2 males to our kennel.  A nice black & tan with some white……..Barker Brook’s Blackdash Bogey.  We purchased him when he was 8 wks old ….. Sire FC Babbitts Brown Face & Dam Nelson’s Black Velvet  Same as the the Girls a real pleasure to train………he has a great nose, desire, foot, brains & MR. PERSONALITY PLUS!!!!  You take him out in the wild & always come home with at least two for stew!!  Then there’s Barker Brook’s Waylon Willie ………whelped 6/23/06…….a nice male that ran his own rabbit at 12 weeks old, half a circle in the large training area of our club.  A lot of nose, desire, brains, & a big mush pup.  His sire is Can FC Getemout El Zorro & Dam Rood Pond Blaze……..A very strong male……..he can run all day & not tire……Trisca & Anny have proven themselves over & over again  both in the wild hunting & on the Field Trial Circuit.  These four hounds are the Foundation of our Kennel.  So there you have some idea of what we’re about. I hope you enjoy our site!!

NEW JERSEY BEAGLES.JPG

We are a small breeding kennel breeding two, maybe three litters a year.   We DO NOT mass produce puppies, and we DO NOT ship puppies from one end of the country to the other site unseen.  In Fact, we DO NOT ship puppies at all.  We work from a waiting list where our families may sometimes have to wait a little longer to get their puppy, while knowing quite well that they are getting an excellent quality beagle puppy from a reputable breeder

Our dogs are happy well loved animals, and we will ONLY sell our puppies to screened, loving families. And believe me, we do turn people away. We take much pride in knowing when our “little ones” leave our home they ARE going to loving, caring families. Our kennels are clean, and our puppies are healthy. We are exactly the type of breeder families look for when buying a puppy.  Come visit us and see for yourself

STARRINITE.png

Located in Northern California, Starrinite is a small hobby kennel that exhibits and breeds beagles.  Our merry little hounds are first and foremost beloved family pets, with conformation, obedience, agility, therapy and water play being the fun activities we enjoy with them.

I have owned and loved dogs my whole life, growing up with a Basset Hound and several lab mixes.  I enjoyed the loving temperament of the basset, but also the more outgoing personality and activeness of the labs.  When researching the breed I wanted for my own family, the Beagle was the perfect choice.  They have the wonderful tenacious hound attitude that I love and the more athletic body that I wanted.  The Beagle’s compact size, go-get-um personality, good looks, friendliness and sensitivity make them an ideal dog for many families.  Don’t mistake their stubbornness for lack of brains, the Beagle is highly intelligent.  The beagle is a wonderful dog, but not for every situation.  Please read my Beagle Info page, research the breed and talk to owners and breeders so you know what a beagle is really about before you make a commitment.  They really are a “big dog in a small package.”

We do not have puppies all the time, but when we breed, it is our goal to breed Beagles that are beautiful, healthy and of wonderful temperament.  Our puppies are lovingly hand-raised in our home where they get plenty of handling and socialization.

Terwillegar.jpg

Terwillegar Beagles have been producing top winning show and obedience champions for over 45 years, But have been in the United States for 14 years. Kerry Schultz comes by her interest in beagles naturally. Her mother had been invloved with the breed before she was born. She shared her first beagles with her mother and now she has the support and interest of her daughter, Kristin, who attended her first dog show at the age of six weeks.

Kerry showed and bred  beagles with her mother, acquiring a bitch from the Teloca line and after becoming a permanent Arizona resident in 1990 she developed the “Arizona Connection” breeding and showing under the Terwillegar kennel name.
Kristin has been active in junior handling and working with her mother, and has shown successfully throughout most of the west, and in some parts of the east for several years. A highlight of her show career this year was a group win with Ch. Terwillegar’s Danny Boy.
Kerry has also has also been active in obedience competition and training, blowing away the myth that beagles can not be successful in the obedience ring.
Many years of experience and hard work has gone into the Terwillegar line and is still running and producing strong and exceptional show dogs.
