Nancy’s Westies is a hobby kennel devoted to raising loving family pets. We believe the Westie to be the perfect family companion for the following reasons:
- The Westie is a happy-go-lucky dog which takes everything within it’s stride (never timid, shy, or yappy!)
- The Westie is energetic enough to keep up with multiple children.
- The Westie is a friendly, non-aggressive dog, getting along well with people, and most other animals.
- The Westie is an extremely hardy dog, which can romp with the best of them, and do well as either an inside dog or an outside dog (given the proper facilities).
- Westies don’t have a shedding problem, so Mom doesn’t spend all of her time vacuuming up pet hair.
- Westies are extremely intelligent and love to learn new tricks
- Westies are the perfect size — small enough for your lap, big enough for the yard.
Our puppies are all born in our home, under very close supervision.

Please do not get a puppy, or a dog if you have any hesitation about long term responsibility of a furry best friend.
Some parents and grandparents OFA certificates are on the parent page, (Orthopedic Foundation Association) for patellas, hips and eyes as recommended by the breed club. No other breeder I know of does as much health testing, over such a long time for Westie’s as we do.
(Many breeders do no testing at all!)

The West Acres is located on a beautiful 220 acre, riverside estate in the heart of northwest Missouri. We have been fortunate enough to call this land home since the spring of 1988.
Along with the occasional roaming puppy, The West Acres is home to a small flock of dorset-suffolk sheep, a single horse, rolling cropland & native grass, and numerous species of wildlife including whitetail deer, red fox, cottontail rabbit, & bobwhite quail.
As hard as it is to see a puppy leave, it is always comforting to see him or her in a good home, bringing their unique charm to their new families. We would love the opportunity to share the happiness found in these little bundles of joy with you, as they have brought more into our lives at The West Acres than we could ever have imagined.

Our breeding philosophy is simple: we breed healthy dogs with sound temperaments, to produce West Highland White Terrier puppies that not only exceed conformation and breeding standards, but also make great additions to any family. Each Westie Litter Is Hand-Raised from Our Home to Yours. All our dogs are a part of our family, and are raised from birth inside our Southeast Michigan home. We are a low-volume West Highland White Terrier breeder and have a small kennel to ensure that all puppies are well-socialized and up-to-date on their inoculations and worming treatments.
Stoneyhill Farm is a small 10 acre farm in North Central Massachusetts. Our farm breeds Cairn Terriers and West Highland White Terriers.We can give credit for our girls to one breeder, Mrs. Raili Jacoby. She has consistantly produced beatiful Westies for over 30 years. We think she sold us her best two girls, Shayla who is almost three and Lily who will be two. Both will be bred this year, to an outstanding male who has achieved much in his lifetime.
