The love for Chihuahuas inspired our friendship several years ago. We both have years of experience working with, breeding & training this amazing Breed.
Dot and Jim Leverett and their Boston Terrier babies are located on a 15-acre mountaintop about 30 miles north of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their love of the breed started in 1984 when they bought their first Boston, Mandy.
Our journey into Beagles began in 1993 when our daughter Stacey came home from school announcing she would like to show dogs instead of getting into sports at school or community leagues.
Thus the search was on for the breed that would fit us. After weeks of going through
AKC’s The Complete Dog Book on breed standards we narrowed our search to six
breeds.
We spent the next several months at local dog shows investigating the breeds talking
to owners, breeders and handlers. In only a few shows we knew that Beagle would
soon be a big part of our life.
As the search began Stacey was able to get a rescue Cairn Terrier from a friend to
start in the Junior Showmanship ring. After a couple wrong starts in Beagles we were
blessed to get Bayou Oaks Frostbite, AKA Frankie. We’re sure it was short for
Frankenstein. With her we knew we were hooked for life and so the next leg of our
journey began.
We love all of our dogs and love to show them off! We also love our Customers and want to be there for them as much as possible along the way! We have no AKC restrictions like other breeders! Three C’s Scotties are bred from some of the finest stock and champion lines in the world. You will find our Scotties to have been well socialized and have excellent temperament.
Dave and Gail Gordon started their dog show careers separately but coincidentally in the same year, 1971. Dave started in Ohio and Gail in Georgia. Dave and Gail met through the dog show ring and were later married in 1979. In our 45 years showing dogs, we have finished more than 100 Champions. Dave chose the name “Marma Farms” because he was breeding and showing Great Danes to begin with, and Marmaduke was the well-known comic strip about a silly Great Dane. Gail also started showing and breeding Great Danes. When we were married, we combined kennels and kept the name “Marma Farms”. It wasn’t until 2003 that we started breeding and showing Shiba Inus.

My first Boston Terrier was given to me about 41 years ago. Having had dogs all of my life, I quickly fell in love with this breed. Encore Beagles is a small kennel located near Anniston, Alabama that deals exclusively with beagles. Beagles are our love, dream, and a huge part of our daily life. We’ve been breeding beagles for over 20 years, but have been showing for almost 40 years. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy, merry little hounds as close to standard as possible. All our puppies are born and raised in a home environment while being socialized for pet homes and the show ring. Pet and show puppies are available and adults on occasion.
