We ventured out into the world of obedience competition in 1984 with Duffy, our very first Scottie. Within a year of his arrival the show bug had bitten and we acquired our very first AKC confirmation scottie from breeders Sue & Gary Carr. That was 30 years ago. During those years we’ve made up approximately 30 champions. Excellent health, sound temperament and structure have always been uppermost in our minds when planning a breeding. We take advantage of all available testing to ensure, to the best of our ability, the health of our Scotties.
The Boston Terrier is a cross between an English Bulldog and a English WhiteTerrier resulting in a very intelligent little dog that shows the best features of both of these parent breeds.
The Boston Terrier is truly an “All American” dog. According to the AKC, part of the breed’s success is due to it’s American origins. Bostons are often described as near-perfect companions. They are friendly, affectionate, gentle with children, clean, easy to train and comical. Bostons live for their owners and they are eager to please.
Rocky Top Beagles is a small privately owned kennel in Texas. I have been raising purebred AKC standard Beagles in my home since 2005 .
Every puppy is raised in my home just as if it were to remain my own. Housebreaking starts as soon as the puppies are old enough to wander the house. There are adult dogs in the house and two cats so the puppies are well socialized with other animals. I play with the puppies daily and get them accustomed to the sound of the vaccum cleaner, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, etc.
All puppies come with a health guarantee as well as age appropriate shots and wormings. The puppies are able to go home at eight (8) weeks of age and will have their registration application for the AKC in their puppy packet.
Just north of Houston, near The Woodlands and Conroe, Texas, as a young boy I ran the woods around Old Waverly hunting whatever was in season. It was my grandparent’s farm, we called it “the country”. Stories of adventures in the woods and hay meadows around “Waverly” continued until I went off to college. During and after college the hunting stories kept on being written but they occurred in other places.
We started raising Chihuahuas in 1992 and we have grown from our first two tiny puppies to our current ten dogs. Our dogs are exceptional quality for the breed standard. We have also developed a new an exciting breed that is gaining in popularity all across the country. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy puppies for our customers to enjoy for many years. We are a family of 4 living on a 114 acre ranch out here in Dime Box, TX where we have tons of fun playing, running, swimming, and doing just about everything with our dogs. Our family has been raising these two breeds for almost 30 years and we are excited to be the third generation involved. Crazy HART Boston Terriers is a small-scale, family-owned breeding program located in central Texas. It is our belief that by producing a small number of litters annually, we are able to spend more time, effort, and love on raising high-quality, well-socialized puppies.
We love the smaller, pocket-sized beagle and were thrilled to get 2 mating pairs in 2015 that produced one litter of eight and another litter of five. In 2016 we paired one of our males with our third female which produced a healthy litter of seven in April. We had no still births and every puppy was beautiful, playful, and ready for a loving home. We have had 8 more litters since then and feel that all the puppies were blessed with loving and caring families. In 2018, we allowed our younger females to mature and paired them at 2 years of age to our males.
We feel that naming a puppy is a very personal experience. For that reason, we use color-coded collars to identify puppies for reservations. Putting a name on these little guys is very personal and we leave that to the new owners. We would love to know the name you pick for your puppy, especially during the adoption process. As soon as you let us know your puppies name, we update their photo immediately!
We have been raising Bostons for three generations. My grandmother, Faye Spain, began raising Boston Terriers over 50 years ago. We raise Bostons and only Bostons. We take a great deal of pride in the quality of our dogs. We believe in quality not quantity. We do our best to maintain the breed standard in our dogs. While our goal is to breed for show puppies, we do occasionally have pet puppies available. We are located in Cleveland, TX and Waller, TX (outside of Houston).
