I acquired my first Irish Setter in 1989 from a pet store. (Not the recommended way to buy a dog!) She quickly stole my heart, and I fell in love with the breed. Unfortunately, I lost her several months later when some neighborhood children let her loose from her yard and she was killed by a car. I will never forget the pain… It was then that I set about finding another Irish Setter, this time from a reputable breeder. I only wanted a pet and bought a female with an overbite. The breeder of this girl sent me to go watch a dog show in my area. I was hooked immediately! I quickly acquired two more dogs for show. My show career was put on hold when I moved to Saudi Arabia to work at the American School. Of course, I took my dogs with me.

Our Labradors are a big part of our family and what we do. We take full advantage of our newly developed wetland and family ponds for fun adventures, training, and swimming on hot days. We have been blessed to enjoy many hunting opportunities. Our labs have participated in AKC & HRC hunt tests and hunting trips for quail, pheasant, duck, geese, and dove here in Oklahoma and in many of the area states – Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Missouri. They get daily exercise helping me do my alpaca and other farm chores, and get to take turns running on the 80 acres.
