Hi, I’m Sarah Sweetman
I’m the breeder behind Kazuri Beagles and Cavaliers located in Washington. We are lucky enough to have a small, hobby kennel located approximately 15 miles north of Seattle in Washington. While we say “kennel”, our dogs are primarily our pets, spending their days relaxing on the couch. They are part of our family, and any puppies are raised in the same way, in our home. Our goal is to produce quality dogs that not only look beautiful, and are healthy, but also have the temperament that will make them a life-long member of your family.
All our dogs are born, raised and live in our house as a part of our family, kenneling dogs is against our philosophy of dog ownership. Our hounds have 24 hours a day access to the one acre-big securely fenced back yard via a dog door and they all live as one pack. That’s why, when breeding, we pay close attention to producing happy, friendly dogs with easy going temperaments. Health issues are of paramount importance for us too and we do careful health evaluation of our breeding stock that includes DNA testing for breed specific disorders.
We were blessed to start our breeding program with exceptional breed specimens that resulted from dedication and hard work of many generations of breeders in this country and around the world. Now it is our turn to share our success with fellow breeders – our beagles are making an impact in show rings and whelping boxes not only in Western hemisphere but in many European countries as well.
Marty and I both discovered the Sport of Dogs long before we discovered each other. He spent most of his time with the Beagles and I spent most of mine with the Flat-Coats. One day we were introduced by a friend and the rest is history. We now own and breed Flat-Coats under the Blazin prefix. We share our home in Mt. Airy, Maryland with our 6 Flat-Coats and sons, Colin and Bryce.

My husband Jim and I now reside, along with our many Apsos, in the beautiful rolling hills of south-central Pennsylvania (PA).My goal as a breeder and conservationist of the Lhasa Apso has been to maintain the original Tibetan type as much as possible. Having always loved dogs, it was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn about Apsos from the ground up; starting with the basic care and grooming of the breed and eventually working my way up to the show and breeding aspect of what ultimately became a lifetime commitment.
Kim is living her dream; former manager of WagTime Doggie Day Care 2001 (Washington, DC). Kim is the former owner of Paws & Claws (2001-2004), and co-founder of Pet Dreams (2004-present). She has over 15 years of experience as a Veterinarian Technician, specializing in Emergency Critical Care. She managed the over night shift of the Largest 24 hr. Emergency Veterinarian Hospital in Washington, DC. Kim is a Certified Aviclturist Level 1 via The American Federation of Aviculture, Inc. She is the heart beat & soul of Dream Team Kennels!

We have had dogs all of our lives and they are such a big part of our family. We are deeply in love with this breed and the decision we made of adding a Boerboel to our family was the perfect fit for our property and home.
At 57 I feel I have a mission and rewarding labor of love (and , as I call it, lots of “Fun work”). I truly believe I am providing best friends, unconditionally loving companions and family members, and that it is a positive endeavor in an especially troubled world, especially for families with children. We continue to raise puppies and have ongoing positive feedback and referrals from happy people, many with families and children. Some of my dogs are doing therapy work and/or perform in obedience trials.
I’ve been involved in German Shepherds since 1992 and have been doing dog sports and schutzhund ever since, and I’ve been a Breed Warden and Tattooer for the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. I’m serious about having dogs around who I like to live and WORK with. I like a dog with a rock-solid temperament, intense drive, and keen intelligence.This is the goal of every carefully planned breeding I do – I don’t breed often, and I want every puppy to grow up to be a joy in the work and in life.

We have been involved with this breed for over 23 years and what started as a small hobby for me—still is, but is definitely a passion today.
