My name is Helen (aka Ronnie) Fraguela. I am an exhibitor/breeder of Soft Coated Wheaten terriers since 1975.Wheaten Terriers are my only breed, and I am deeply committed to their protection and preservation. Every puppy I breed, I consider my responsibility throughout it’s life. Maintaining contact with my puppy families is very important to me to ensure owners and pups are doing well, and to follow the progress and development of my lines.
I went to the Internation Dog Show in Chicago in 1981 with a list of nine breeds I was interested in. While at ringside, I saw the most incredible dogs. They were Soft Coated Wheatens and the breeder was sure I had lost my mind. I had! I’ve been crazy about the breed ever since. Finally, “Tiffen” and I headed to her new home. Twenty seven years later, I would still prefer being in the show ring than gardening, reading or playing bridge although I enjoy all of the above.
Our lives are greatly enriched by the companionship of our dogs. Everyday life takes on a special sparkle and they remind us to cherish each moment. Competing in conformation events hones our breeding program and keeps us connected to friends. Sharing our dogs through therapy work at schools & nursing homes blesses others (and ourselves)! Our joy comes full circle when our limited breeding program allows us to place well-matched puppies into loving homes, enlarging and enriching the ‘Blessing Family’.
At Lovesong, all of the dogs are members and all of my current, past, and future owners and their dogs are considered part of the extended family. As a responsible breeder I strive to breed dogs that adhere to breed standards but that also make wonderful companions. With an eye to good health and temperament, I aim to produce quality puppies that are of sound body and mind. I have worked with both Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers (1982) and Kerry Blue Terriers (1991).

My name is Sherry Akers. My husband Steve and I are small breeders devoted to raising healthy, happy, social AKC Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. We are licensed and inspected by Iowa State as well as AKC, and Veterinarian inspected annually. We have received high praise from all on our facilities and care of our dogs. There is absolutely nothing like coming home daily to receive the “Wheaten Greetin” – as any Wheaten owner can attest to. We want to help other families discover that special kind of joy that we believe only a Wheaten can bring into your life.
Puppy Dogs By Design is a small family owned kennel located in east central Oklahoma. What started as a mother~daughter hobby in 1987, has grown into a passion and obsession for our canine friends. Throughout the years, we have spent endless hours researching and selecting the perfect dogs to build our kennel. Of course, health and temperament are of the highest priority to us, not to leave out conformation and beauty. We both specialize within the breeds we have chosen to fit our personalities and families.

Burdigan Wheatens are located in Spokane, WA. We are committed to breeding Wheatens that meet the standard for beauty (we want our Wheatens to look like Wheatens and act like Wheatens, plus do well in the show ring), but temperament and health is most important in our breeding program and for our puppies. Through the years, my knowledge and love for the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has flourished.
We are committing ourselves to bettering this breed and to helping other individuals and families to know and enjoy the wonderful gift that Wheatens bring to life. All three of our dogs are healthy and have passed all health tests required for them. At home, they’ve taught each other how to attack a vacuum cleaner and announce visit visitors (we call it a “wheaten greetin”). Our dogs Al and Frankie are Grand Champion dogs in the AKC; not an easy title to achieve.

Our Wheatens are loved family members that live in our household. We do a limited amount of breeding. We are active members of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of Northern California and follow their Code of Ethics. Our goal as breeders is to breed with an emphasis on health and temperament while maintaining the integrity of the breed. We spend a great deal of time and thought going over pedigrees to make wise decisions in our breeding program.
We just love our Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers! We are hobby breeders, producing only a couple of litters per year. Each litter is showered with tons of TLC by myself, as well as my children and family members. Pups are healthy, happy, playful, affectionate & eager to please their new owners when they leave us!
In 1983 my Family welcomed our first SCWT into our home, after exhaustive breed research by my mom. I was blessed to be involved in all aspects of our family’s SCWT care. Breeding Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers that adhere to the national breed standard in appearance, with great temperaments and health as a priority is a deep seated passion that will always be important in my life. My dogs are family members first and show dogs in AKC sanctioned dog shows second. I want the best temperament and attitude possible living in my home and the home of my potential pet and show puppy families.

We are American Kennel Club registered small hobby breeders of Kerry Blue Terriers and Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. We strive to breed dogs of the highest quality. Proper conformation, good health, and stable temperaments are our goals. We take breeding very seriously and every litter is planned with quality in mind. We are a member in good standing with Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America (SCWTCA).
We health test all of the adult dogs before they are ever bred, dogs are not bred before the age of 2 years, and we stand behind what we sell for the life of the dog. Our females are only bred once a year to once every other year. Any hobby breeder will tell you that we decide to bring puppies into this world, therefore we are responsible for them for the rest of their lives. Hobby breeders sell all of their pet puppies on a spay/neuter contract as we do not want the world populated with Wheatens or Bouviers. All of our litters are AKC registered and all of the puppies’ parents are AKC comformation champions.
“Heirloom Wheatens” is located just outside of Denver on the eastern slope of the Rockies We have almost three acres, all fenced so our Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers have a lot of running room. Patrice Chevalier and Robert Bergman have been in love with Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers for over 33 years. Our goal as a breeder is to produce litters that will positively augment the breed while aligning with the breed standard. We breed with a keen focus on health and outstanding temperaments and performance energy. Based on our current breeding objectives we produce a smaller number of litters than some other breeders.
