Mastiffs, just like any breed, have health issues. We wanted to make sure that we were going to have a HEALTHY dog above all else. Secondly, came temperament. As far as we are concerned,, if you have to “Put Up With” a dog’s temperament…you should not have the dog. You have to have a dog healthy in mind and body in order to be happy. If a dog can not play because it is crippled or be comfortable around the family because of a temperament problem then neither the dog nor you will be happy, and this is no life for a Mastiff.

We research our stud’s pedigrees prior to breeding to look at getting all the strengths and weaknesses of each canine being bred to ensure we are breeding for soundness, structure, temperament, and health. Honey Pot Hounds is a small, home based hobby kennel in southern New Hampshire owned by Cindy and Jim Williams. It all started with a “Free” Beagle named Buster. He was given to us from a local hunter and came bearing the label “Failed Hunting Dog” and carrying a lot of emotional baggage. But inside that sad little Beagle was a friendly soul with a lot of spirit and so our love of the little hounds was born.
We do not ship dogs or puppies and we do not sell to pet stores or brokers.
