Von der haus Gill German Shepherds was started in 1992 by Al and Susan Gill with the idea of helping families looking for quality puppies by locating breeding dogs of the quality of his police dog at the time.Since that beginning Al, Susan, and Matt have bred over 155 litters of pups (860+ puppies) and imported/ trained over 3000 adult dogs. Von der haus Gill Kennel has passed every AKC, ATF, DEA inspection, a record they are very proud of. Their experience and knowledge has set the standard for the law enforcement and companion dog breeding/training industry.
We are a small kennel located in Medina, Ohio where our dogs have 4 acres of property to run and play on, as well as a one acre pond to swim in. Being a small kennel, having only 5 dogs allows me more time to spend with each dog, on obedience training, socialization and grooming. Our dogs have been active in schutzhund, confirmation, agility, herding, and therapy work. Raised in a family atmosphere, our puppies get to interact daily with our other dogs as well as family members, neighbors and visitors.
I am a big dog lover and have always had dogs in my life. From Beagles,
Elkhounds, German Shepherds, Collies, Boxers and now Shiba Inus. A
family member introduced me to Shibas about 6 years ago and I have
been hooked since. Love these guy’s quirky little attitudes and catlike
gracefulness.
Eastwood Shibas are not kept outside or in kennels – all
our Shibas live in our home with us – they are family.
We only have 1 to 2 litters a year, so we
can enjoy the Shibas we have.
y family acquired our first Newfoundland while I was in high school. Her name was Kodi and she came from a puppy mill. Unfortunately Kodi developed a number of orthopedic problems as she matured but was a typical Newfoundland in temperament.
While in college I acquired my second Newfoundland, Chablis, after what I thought was a lot of research. Chablis ended up with what we now know as forelimb anomaly . After 4 major surgeries at Ohio State University she ended up living a long healthy life but having a breeder who had no interest in her problems was disheartening.
In 1992 I purchased my foundation bitch Taylor from Diane Broderick of Amity Newfoundlands in New Jersey. The following year I purchased my second foundation bitch from Kathy Hamilton of Old Bay Newfoundlands in Virginia. I have to thank them as well as many other breeders that have mentored me along the way. You helped me get a great start into the world of Newfoundland dogs.
I also must thank Becky Reynnells who came to stay at Top Shelf in 2004. With her help showing and grooming the dogs Top Shelf has achieved awards beyond any of my expectations.
Last but not least – a big thank you to Amy Lane of Allegiance Newfoundlands who I have co-owned dogs with over the years. She has spent countless hours developing and updating our new Top Shelf website. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

We are AKC Breeders of Merit and STCA Breeder of Merit Honor Roll. We are located in Miamisburg, Ohio, near Dayton. As a Breeder of Merit Honor Roll Member, which is achieved by meeting requirements set forth by the AKC & STCA, we breed for Health (CHIC registered), Temperament, Continuity of breeding line and meeting the standards set forth by the Scottish Terrier Club of America, as approved by the American Kennel Club.
We are a small kennel located outside the town of Fayetteville, Ohio and about one hour east of Cincinnati. We have some fine American Bulldogs here, and we take great pride in them.
Since 1942 Fleetwood Farms has produced generations of consistantly desirable conformation Irish Setters including AKC Best In Show Ch.Fleetwood Farms mult-Best in Show Team of 4 stud dogs is another example of the consistant good disposition and lovely conformation, we strive for. The Team consisted of 4 stud dogs, from 4 different Mothers but all sired by our Ch. Fleetwood Farms Starheirs Aaron Ardee.We have consistantly strived to breed good quality, dark mahogany setters, that are known for their calm, intelligent temperament.
Here at buckeye boerboels we have been breeding Boerboels for almost a decade. We produce dog’s that are distinctive in their own right. We believe in the true working South African originally developed to protect the family from the wild animals and savages of AFRICA and is sometimes referred to as the south African mastiff.
In 2003, Ginger moved to South East Ohio and Robin stayed in NJ. Still wanting to be involved and close, Robin would meet her mom at shows and help.We currently have some top winning rough and smooth collies in the country. As a mother and daughter team living 500 miles apart, we continue working together breeding and showing quality collies. We have owned and/or bred many many champions with many more being pointed or major pointed.
We at Lunn’s Irish Setters have been breeding conformation, agility, obedience, field trial and companion dogs for over 30 years. We strive to breed healthy, beautiful and intelligent Irish Setters.We are 2011 Irish Setter Club of America runner up for the Litter Breeder Award, Breeders Award, Best Matron Award and Breeder of Best Matron Award.
